The Summer Cottage

Rain yesterday afternoon at 1 pm; lasts most of evening; this morning up at 6 am. for latrine; then listen to audiobook-great new addition this year; terrible nightmares as I fall asleep listening.

After breakfast of 2 pkgs. oatmeal, coffee, fried rice cake set up to spray weeds on West wall; somehow I may have omitted doing enough with spray last year. Back facing South wall looks fine and was most difficult stretch to do with landscape carpeting resting overtop of weeds; then shovelling gravel overtop-now looks great.

Pulled tall thistle weeds (milkweeds) along South and East walls/huge pile; easy to pull after rains; cleared out weeds growing within old car tire left in NE corner holding down landscape carpeting resting overtop; may have to pull grass each season around this spot with rubber tire.

Made some black tea, brown beans and bun with fresh garden lettuce(welcome gift from good neighbour)

Heard from renovation specialist who may decide to assist with refurbishment.

Continues to rain, overnight felt like 09 degrees Celsius and trees touched with turning yellow leaves; Friday to be hot with 32 degrees Celsius so hope to visit beach.Maulo
