Happy St. Patrick's Day 17 March

Updated: Apr 22

However, your day has gone, I wish you much good luck for your coming year. I did many things today, but planned for this holiday weeks in advance with creating my own graphic designs of shamrocks I like to share with my two grandchildren and even then their parents, my sons. I try to include small additional items more pertinent to my day to day experiences, and within their arena of interests into seeing into my day to day experiences like bookmarks from my new novel July's Dream Book 1, which they continue to support and encourage me in my writing goals and dreams.

Today I decide to sit back and enjoy various St. Patrick's Day parades around the world including Dublin, Ireland, New York, USA, and Toronto, Canada. I enjoy looking at street scenes from Dublin, and recalling walking the same streets the parade takes from Parnell Square, down Connelly, to

St. Patrick's Cathedral to St. Steven's Green in October 2023. The largest parade appears to be in New York, but I was happy to see parts of the Toronto Parade, as I am a descendent of Northern Irish immigrants to Toronto.

Finally, I have sent out good wishes to a few wishing them a Happy St. Patrick's Day. Today I am thrilled to see Princess Kate from London travel to Wellington for the Irish Guard whom she visits as their royal leader, and hear her brief conversations with many soldiers, children and even share a pint of ale in tribute to one of their own who served in World War I and as he departs to serve again in this war after recovery leaving hopes each will share in a pint in their honor as soldiers fighting on their behalf. I hear Kate give short explanation as not finishing her pint, as she has had little to eat before arriving, and all is well. Princess Kate distributes sprigs of heather to each from two baskets for good luck.

My own Grandfather served in the Royal Irish Guard in World War I, after returning from Canada to Northern Ireland, and farming his homestead in Saskatchewan. He ended up a prisoner of War, returned to County Fermanagh, marries my Grandmother who gives birth to their first child, my very own Mum, and emigrates to Saskatchewan. So that's my Irish story in a nutshell, and wish you all good luck with my short piece.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2025!
